Come From Away is a stage musical with book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. It is based on the true events in Gander, Newfoundland, following the September 11, 2001 attacks, when international flights were diverted and local residents hosted stranded travelers. The production opened on Broadway at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on March 12, 2017, and ran through October 2, 2022. It received major industry recognition, including seven Tony Award nominations and a win for Best Direction of a Musical for Christopher Ashley.
