Audien is the stage name of Nathaniel Rathbun, an American DJ, record producer, and musician from Mystic, Connecticut, who was raised in a musical household and was introduced to electronic dance music in 2008 through trance songs in video game soundtracks. He learned to recreate tracks from Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance podcasts and first broke through with ’Rise & Shine’ on Ferry Corsten’s Flashover Recordings before releasing music on Anjunabeats, Armada Music, Spinnin’ Records, and Astralwerks. Armada describes him as known for production prowess and uplifting melodies, and notes that he signed to Astralwerks in 2015, released the Daydreams EP that year, and later put out the single ’Insomnia,’ which reached number one on the US Dance Charts. His 2015 remix of Bastille’s ’Pompeii’ earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. His studio albums include Escapism, released November 8, 2019, and First Love, released October 3, 2025.
